About the Home Refiner

Those of you that are interested in help with your decorating issues would more than likely want to know a little bit about my abilities. Rest assured that if you still have questions after you read about me please feel free to email any questions you might have.

Truthfully I was born with the decorating BUG. I not only rearranged my own personal space in our family home over and over, I was always rearranging my parent's space. I took every ART class that was available through out my educational years, which included awards in photography.

When it was time for me to venture out into the working world my first jobs were in fashion retail. While I enjoyed my sales/management positions I was always called upon to set and reset the stores. I enjoyed making the stores look fabulous for our customers. I wanted them to enjoy the ambiance while they were in the store. I don't think that many of us enjoy walking into any business that is unappealing and makes you want to get out of there as fast as you can. The more inviting our surroundings are the better we all feel. That is important in business and it is important for you to have pleasant surroundings where you live. It has always amazed me how happy decorating makes all of us, whether it is working with what you already have or a complete makeover. Refreshing your home can really be like getting a brand new home. If you are starting with a brand new home that is a blank slate and the joys of creating are endless.

While managing an eclectic home decor store I truly found my calling. Helping people to decorate their homes with new purchases and seeing the joy that their new "find" gave them made my work day more like play than work. Going to Markets to purchase items for the store was always a hectic challenge, but we always managed to bring back or order items that all of our customers appreciated and wanted. One of the proudest and most defining moments for me was the day that I had customers come into the store during the Holiday Season to ask if they could take pictures of the storefront window I had designed. They were taking these pictures to use for their Christmas cards. That single moment somehow gave me the courage that has brought me here today. It was time for me to use my talents for my own business; so here I am.

I want you to know that I have had years of experience decorating in the retail arena. It is now time for me to strike out on my own. You will be amazed what you and I can accomplish in a very short period of time to make your surroundings a place that you will want to "Come Home To," and will be proud to invite family and friends.
